STREET IS LAVA
WE ARE CREATING!
Street is lava is a show without words that speaks to us with humor about the street and our dynamics as passersby We are part of a society that attempts absurd regulation systems in urban space. We are burdened with masks, fears, doubts and contradictions that promote unfair social inequality.
Street is Lava is carried out by six grotesque characters who, through a physical and clownish language, generate complicity by interacting with the audience that is not usually an audience.
As luck would have it, you'll find Street is Lava on the street and we'll never leave. "The closest thing to the eternal is the ephemeral."
HOW DO WE DO IT?
The creation process consists of occupying the streets of different cities to be able to experiment with different types of public spaces and to be able to create directly with everything that the street gives us.
We believe that it is necessary to take a step forward, both for the quality of the creation and for the visibility of street arts. We want to make this sociological and artistic experiment more real than ever and do it in the street directly with the main protagonists: the space and its people.
We plan to open in spring-summer 2024.
Are you coming with us?
RESIDENCES
TÀRREGA
A very long road begins.
First residence with an idea of where we want to go only defined with characters.
VIC
The discovery of the characters.
We start going out with our characters and we are giving it shape.
TOULOUSSE
A live creation experience.
We did a short test with two characters in the center of Toulouse as part of the Exit festival.
GANDIA
We become friends with the characters.
Finally we reach a high degree of satisfaction with the final construction of each character. With advice from Craig Weston.
BOLOGNA
Let's start doing drama tests.
We put a script on the table and start testing scenes.
MALLORCA
Let's continue with the drama.
We evolve the scenes we had started in Bologna and complete them much more carefully. We try to splice together everything we have.
TÀRREGA
The typical creative crisis.
After the residency in Mallorca where the tests did not work as we expected, the management team goes through a total restructuring of the dramaturgy and we go back, again, to do some tests. We finally managed to embody these tests with a show with an audience and...surprise! We are not so bad!
NEXT STATION... NEWBURY!
... to be continued!
